I love children and family photography!  Creating family portraits is a fun experience capturing both group and individual images in a session.  Each family will be remembered for generations through their photographs.  Tell your family story from birth to anniversaries, graduation to retirement through beautiful photographs of the people you love the most.  Family moments captured through photographs become one's most valued possession.  I offer studio sessions with a variety of contemporary backdrops along with formal lighting in a cozy setting.  Outdoor sessions are a favorite choice and work well for group family photos with room for informal poses and photographing spontaneous interactions.  A list of suggested locations around the Washington DC area can be found on our FAQ page.  I also have a passion for themed baby and children's sets and offer a wide range of specialty props and backdrops.  Please see our slideshow and gallery below for an idea list of backdrops and sets available for portraits.   Be sure to fill out our contact link below and book your session today! 

Themed Children's Sets

Erin Bess - Professional Photographer

Hello!  Thanks for your interest in having me photograph your family and for visiting my web-site.  I love children and photographing families is a fun experience.   My favorite part of being a photographer is relating to people, making posing for photographs a fun, relaxing and enjoyable time.  Besides being a professional photographer, I am also an former art teacher and mother of two young boys.  My goal is to work with you as a client to create artwork that is unique and meaningful on a personal level of your family.  I graduated with a BA in Fine Art - Photography from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and stay current with all of the technology advances in digital photography through professional organizations.  I am currently serving on the board of directors for the DC chapter of PPA (Professional Photographers of America) and stay current with all of the technology advances in digital photography with  multiple Washington DC Photographers Association memberships with APA (American Photographic Artists) and CAP (Capital Area Photographers).  This is an  important part of my continuing education in a constantly changing technology based art field.  Please reach out to me with any questions regarding how I can best capture your family through photographs.  I would  love to hear from you!
